Andean Dry Forest

Hacienda Verde is part of the Jerusalem Protected Forest system, one of the few remaining primary Andean Dry Forests in northern Ecuador.

The average rainfall is about 500 mm per year and temperatures range between 16-19 degrees Celsius.

The Andean Dry Forest, despite having fewer species than the Rainforest, is a particularly rare and endangered ecosystem with unique species.

More than 100 plant species have been identified in the area, 35 of them useful.

Enjoy this unique ecosystem in our Ecohiking tours, B&B and Educational visits.
